The Department of Public Health and Social Services has released DPHSS Guidance Memorandum 2021-09, dated March 22, 2021, relative to adopting 3-feet social distancing for in-class operations for K-12 schools.

The purpose of the guidance is to provide further clarification for schools adopting the 3-feet social distancing for in-class operations for K-12 schools.

According to the guidance, schools should continue to abide by all the provisions in DPHSS Guidance Memorandum 2021-02 except as provided herein with regard to mask-wearing and physical distancing.

DPHSS stressed that nothing in the new guidance memo is intended to require that schools reduce their current physical distancing measures to three (3) feet.
