Gunman in double homicide case appears in Superior Court

Sagdal was initially charged in Superior Court with aggravated murder.

Guam – Joseph Sagdal, the man accused of gunning down two men following a dispute at the Hemlani’s Apartment in Harmon was scheduled to appear in court today.

However, it’s unclear whether a grand jury indictment was handed down against him. Sagdal was scheduled to appear at 4 p.m. for a preliminary hearing, but a court clerk said Sagdal’s case was heard at 3 p.m.

Today would have been the last day for the Attorney General’s Office to obtain an indictment against Sagdal.

Defense Attorney David Lujan, who is currently off island, said an indictment may have been returned warranting his client’s appearance in court, however details of the indictment, if any, were not available as of news time.

The Superior Court also told PNC that there was no indictment filed in Sagdal’s case file as of news time.
