Guam – The Gutierrez/Gumataotao team appears to finally be ramping up their campaign. At this very hour they are holding their first major rally in the island’s capital of Hagatna.
Until now the GG campaign has primarily focused on holding small pocket meetings village by village. They have had no real presence on radio, the newspaper or television and instead have focused on internet adds. With the primary election on Saturday this evening the Gutierrez/Gumataotao campaign have staged a major rally which will close the Archbishop Felixberto Flores street which runs between the DNA building and the Hagatna cathedral Gutierrez/Gumataotao Campaign Manager Jeff Marshesault says this is a sign that this campaign is really kicking into full gear. “This was really a ground up movement and it has just swelled from village to village like I said it’s consistently five hundred people so we expect at least that many here tonight but you’ve got to remember there’s people coming from villages all over the island,” said Marshesault adding, “In fact it’s not only Democrats who are supporting us we’re happy to have disaffected Republicans, Republicans who aren’t satisfied with the current administration Of course we have a lot of Democrats because the Democrats have united under the Sunshine Democrats the Bordallocrats as we like to call them also the Underwood team. So all Democrats are on one team plus we have some Republicans and independents who are voting our way. They’ve assured us of that.” Archbishop Felixberto Flores St. will be closed from 6p.m. until 11p.m. for the Gutierrez/Gumataotao rally.
