The Guam Visitors Bureau is reporting that the number of tourists who have canceled their trips to Guam is now over 6,000 as the novel coronavirus continues to spread throughout the region.
GVB is working closely with all of its travel partners, said GVB President Pilar Laguana.
“We continue to share all of the official communication coming out of our government and public health to the trade abroad. Good communication is very important, factual communication is the key,” she said.
GVB has reached out to its offices in the region to reassure travelers that it is safe to come to Guam.
Even though there are cancellations, Laguana points out that travelers are still booking trips to Guam, and some of those who have canceled have rebooked, she said.
