Guam – Guam Visitor’s Bureau General Manager Gerry Perez submitted his resignation at the GVB Board meeting Thursday afternoon.

GVB Board Chairman Monte Mesa told PNC News that the resignation was “voluntary” and that the Board accepted Perez’s resignation. Deputy General Manager Joann Camacho has been tapped as Acting GM, he said.

However, Mesa said that Perez would remain involved as a consultant to the GVB Board with 3 key responsibilities. He will continue to work on the 5 year strategic plan; he will help insure consistency in GVB initiatives like the Hafa Adai Pledge and village tours; and “he will be there to support the transition to a new General Manager,” said Mesa.

When asked whether Joann Camacho would be named the new General Manager, Mesa said that the Board has not decided on that yet.
