Guam – Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) and the Guam delegation promoted the island at the 24th Korea World Travel Fair (KOTFA) in Seoul last Thursday and Friday.
During the Fair, the Inetnon Gef Pa’go dance troupe won the Best Folklore Performance Award.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; the Korea Tourism Organization; UN-WTO; and Korean Air Lines Co., KOTFA draws more than 2,850 domestic and international exhibitors to the South Korean capital each year.
The Guam delegation, led by Senator Tina Muña-Barnes, chairwoman of the Committee on Municipal Affairs, Tourism, Housing and Recreation for the 31st Guam Legislature; GVB General Manager Joann Camacho; GVB Marketing Manager Pilar Laguaña; GVB Marketing Officer Regina Nedlic; and GVB
Cultural Heritage Officer Sonja Lujan-Sellers joined more than 94,400 trade, media and consumers at the three-day travel and tourism show.
Since the beginning of KOTFA 24 years ago, GVB has exhibited at the show. The 2011 event also featured Pleasure Island alongside the Guam booth to complement the island’s efforts.
“Our attendance at exhibitions like KOTFA, which has always presented a fruitful networking opportunity, continues to help us enrich existing relationships with travel trade and promote Guam to potential visitors,” said GVB General Manager Joann Camacho. “We are extremely proud of Inetnon Gef Pa’go for representing the Guam Brand and earning the prestigious Best Folklore Performance Award.”
Outrigger Guam Resort and Hyatt Regency Guam participated as co-exhibitors at the Guam booth as well.
