Guam – The Guam Visitors Bureau says Guam has recorded its second best January and the third best February in the island’s tourism history.
In January, Guam saw just under 2,000 fewer visitors than last January; and, as has been the trend for the past few years, visitors from Korea and Japan made up the majority of those numbers.
The Korean market increased by 22 percent compared to last January, while the Japanese market decreased by almost 30 percent compared to last year’s numbers.
February numbers showed about 500 fewer visitors to the island compared to 2017, again with the Japanese market showing a slight decrease and the Korean market continuing to increase.
In a news release, GVB President and CEO Nate Denight noted that there’s much to look forward to in the months ahead, particularly with the launch of the second daily flight to Guam from Japan Airlines at the end of March.
