GVB officials touted their annual signature events to include the Guam Ko’ko’ Kids Run, Guam International Marathon, Guam Micronesia Island Fair, Guam BBQ Block Party, Guam Ko’ko’ Half Marathon and Ekiden Relay and the Guam Long Ride/Tour of Guam.  In addition, GVB and the Mayors’ Council of Guam plugged the various Village Festivals, which give visitors a unique opportunity to experience island life and culture.

Additional events which receive GVB Sports Tourism funding include the 21st Annual Marianas Cup Beach Volleyball Festival, 30th Annual Smokin’ Wheels, Lacoste Guam Futures 2014, Guam Commons Cup Table Tennis Tournament, Guam Marianas International Fishing Derby, XTERRA Guam Championships, Guam Rugby TRUE GRIT, Guam Governor’s Cup Ladies Golf Tournament, and the Junko Friendship Rubber Baseball Tournament.

“GVB has the ability to manage, create and support the development of unique tourism experiences such as village and cultural festivals, sporting events and community programs,” said Acting General Manager Jon Nathan Denight.  “Successful brand management is when demand for Guam leads to actual visitation and incomparable visitor experience. When this is accomplished, the island benefits with increased visitor spending, repeat visitation and endorsements for travel to Guam.”
