GVB: March 2014 Visitor Arrivals Down -4% From Last Year’s Record, But It Still Ranks 6th Overall

Guam – Visitor arrivals to Guam fell  -4%  in March of  this year compared to the record arrival number recorded in March of last year. 

Still, the arrival number this past month was high enough to make March 2014 the 6th best on record for visitor arrivals [see chart below].

March 2014 Highlights:

* Japan:   arrivals continue to decline, falling 11.9% in March 2014,  which translates into 12,528  fewer visitors from Japan compared to March 2013.

* Korea:  arrivals continue to pick up some of the slack, rising from 16,327 in March of 2013 to 21,600 this past March. That’s an increase of 32.3%, or 5,273 more visitors from Korea.

* China:  arrivals in March were up 40.2%, from 448 last year to 628 this year.

* Russia: arrivals continue to make strong gains climbing from 761 to 1,783, an 134% increase since March of 2013.
