In the age of Instagram stories, Yelp restaurant reviews, and picturesque travel vlogs, the Guam Visitors Bureau is taking tourism to the digital world.
GVB announced that on Aug. 14, at the Dusit Thani Hotel, it will hold the #instaguam Travel Talks: Global Digital Summit.
The summit will be the first of its kind and will attract tourism industries, technology companies, and social media influencers from around the world.
GVB President, Pilar Laguana, says that the event will be an opportunity for creators and local businesses to showcase Guam in an intriguing way to the rest of the world.
“My biggest hope with this one-day summit is to provide the community with the different opportunities to learn about the platforms that we need to do in the core marketing business. Tourism is our lifeline industry here. It produces over 21,000 jobs on island and I think what GVB has to do is continue new information and new ways of conducting business that would be effective for our business community and our entrepreneurs,” Laguana said.
