Guam – The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) joined 200 other exhibitors at the Expat Show Shanghai last weekend at the Shanghai Exhibition Center in China.
Since 2007, the show has attracted up to 12,000 visitors of more than 80 nationalities in an effort to help them find information, products and services they may need for their life in Shanghai.
“This event gives us a chance to intermingle with potential visitors to our island from several different countries throughout Europe, the United States, Japan, Korea, and Australia, as well as travel agents in China who may market Guam as a destination of choice,” said GVB Marketing Manager Pilar Laguana. “The expat market is a great opportunity for us because of the ease of travel among those Shanghai expatriate residents who hold passports from the U.S. and visa-waiver program-eligible countries.”
Consumers attend the Expat Show to gain information everything from finance & investment to health, education, airlines, food & beverage, entertainment, insurance, lifestyle activities, and more.
GVB representation at the show is part of an ongoing effort to increase the China visitor market on Guam. In 2010, more than 64 percent more visitors have come to Guam compared to last year.
