GVB: February Visitor Arrivals UP 0.7% Over Last Year

Guam -The Guam Visitors Bureau is reporting that visitor arrivals for the month of February were up 0.7% compared to February last year.

February 2012:

* Total Civilian Air Arrivals are up by 0.7% compared to February last year.

* Japan is up by 2.2%, Korea by 2.2% and Taiwan by 10.1%.

*Arrivals from the People’s Republic of China are down by 78.3% compared to last year. This is due to the Chinese New Year holiday falling in the month of February last year. This year’s Chinese New Year was celebrated in January.

Fiscal Year-to-Date:  [October – February]

* Total Calendar Year to Date (January 2012 – February 2012) Air Arrivals is up 3.9% compared to the same period last year.

* Total Fiscal Year to Date (October 2011 – February 2012) Air Arrivals is up by 4.1% compared to the same period last year.
