Guam – The Guam Visitors Bureau has struck gold by banking on the genuine experiences of visitors to promote the island as an instant vacation destination. The establishment of their #instaGUAM campaign, garnered GVB the Gold award under the Marketing Media – Social Media Campaign category at last month’s Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), in Malaysia.
An attempt at highlighting visitor-generated content of their experiences on Guam and featuring them on #instaGUAM seems to have paid off, having been honored at the PATA event, for the successful campaign. Bureau President and CEO Nathan Denight celebrates the recognition stating, ” Our team of professionals works very hard to promote and market Guam to the worls, which in turn benefits the people of Guam and our island home,” Denight continues ”We are very honored to have received this prestigious award from PATA for our work with the Visit Guam 2018 #instaGUAM campaign.”
Before nearly 800 industry executives throughout the Asia-Pacific Region, GVB comes out on top, going against 200 entries from 87 organizations and individuals worldwide. This however is not the first year the Bureau has earned Gold for their promotional campaigns, having garnered the top most recognition last year, for their Shop Guam e-Festival mobile campaign. GVB will now take the #instaGUAM theme into next year, as part of the Visit Guam 2018 global campaign.
Director of Global Marketing Pilar Laguana adds, ”This PATA Gold award is another win for our beautiful island. We thank PATA for recognizing our efforts, as well as our industry partners for contributing to make Guam a better place to live, work and visit.”
