Guam – The Guam Waterworks Authority says that full restoration of water service to the southern villages should be achieved by 5 pm TODAY, Thursday September 20.
Water service went down Wednesday morning after a 12-inch water main in Merizo broke.
Most villages were restored this morning, but Merizo was still without water, along with parts of the Cross Island Road and the higher elevations of Inarajan. GWA Spokeswoman Heidi Ballendorf says they should all have running water by 5 this afternoon.
A release quotes GWA Water Supervisor for GWATony Chargualaf as saying: “Our challenge has been to get the tanks in that area filled before residents start using water we have managed to finally do that. We do ask that people use water wisely while we are filling up the tanks that service the southern villages.”
