Spokesperson Heidi Ballendorf says that GWA will be working on the master meter project throughout the island in the coming months and she hopes the project will be completed by the end of the year.
Guam – The Guam Waterworks Authority is getting ready to initiate an island-wide plan to help the utilities company identify its water loss number.
Spokesperson Heidi Ballendorf says that the master meter plan will help gwa better identify how much water the company loses on a daily basis. Ballendorf says that there are all sorts of numbers floating around about how much water is lost, but the master meter project will hopefully provide a more accurate number according to Ballendorf. Ballendorf says that they have begun work in Mangilao and Pagat and as soon as she has a more complete list, she will release it to the public.
“The master meter program is going to help us identify our water loss number, we have all kinds of numbers out there certainly we are going to lose some water, that’s just a practice in utilities that you are going to lose some water, but we don’t want to lose so much water. When we have a leak and we don’t get to it right away and i know the community is well aware of the leask we don’t get to right away, so what we want to do is figure out, what is our water loss number?” said Ballendorf
