GWA/GPA Disconnection Campaign Targets the South Next Week

Guam – The Guam Power Authority and the Guam Waterworks Authority have announced that on Monday, April 11, they will be targeting villages across the southern part of the island in their ongoing disconnection campaign for customers who are more than 30 days past due on paying their power or water bills.

POWER:

Beginning Monday, 11 April 2011 on through Thursday, 14 April 2011, the Guam Power Authority will be disconnecting electric utility and private streetlight accounts 30 days or more past due in Umatac, Merizo, Inarajan, Malojloj, Talofofo, Yona, Santa Rita, and Agat.

GPA customers whose electric utility account(s) are delinquent are advised to make payment directly to GPA Customer Service locations to avoid reconnection charges; those customers with arrears making payments after 3 p.m. are further advised to see a customer representative. Disconnected utility accounts maybe without service for up to 24 hours due to the high volume of delinquent accounts to be disconnected. Customers are strongly urged to keep their electric utility accounts current.

Reminder: Customers whose electric utility accounts are disconnected for five working days or more must reapply for electric service with all charges to be assessed.

Customers whose electric utility accounts are delinquent must render payment at the GPA Customer Service locations at the Harmon Main Office, the Hagåtña Satellite Office in the Julale Shopping Center or the Agat Satellite Office. Reminder – Agat Satellite Office is open on MWF from 0800 hrs
through 1400hrs.

WATER:

The Guam Waterworks Authority will also be disconnecting water & wastewater utility accounts 30 days or more past due ISLANDWIDE.

GWA customers whose water & wastewater account(s) are delinquent are advised to make payment directly to GWA Customer Service location in Upper Tumon to avoid reconnection charges; those customers with arrears making payments after 3 p.m. are further advised to see a customer
representative.

Disconnected water & wastewater account(s) maybe without service for up to 24 hours due to the high volume of delinquent accounts to be disconnected. Customers are strongly urged to keep their water/wastewater utility accounts current.
