The top athletes will be invited to become a part of the Guam Weightlifting Federation National Team to represent Guam in competition and to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
TAMUNING, GUAM – The Guam Weightlifting Federation will be hosting their National Championship event on at Chamorri Crossfit in Tamuning, Guam. The competition is an open call for all athletes wishing to compete in the Olympic Style Weightlifting event consisting of the Snatch and Clean and Jerk. International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) rules will be observed during this competition, including dress standards.
The top athletes will be invited to become a part of the Guam Weightlifting Federation National Team to represent Guam in competition and to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Athletes must be registered as a member of the Guam Weightlifting Federation to be eligible for the National team. Only Guam residents as defined by the Guam National Olympic Committee will be eligible to represent Guam on the National Team.
For athletes wishing to compete in the National Championship event, please contact the Guam Weightlifting Federation at Guamweightlifting@gmail.com. Entries will be accepted on the day of the event; however, athletes will have to register at least 30 minutes prior to their weigh in time. The weigh in and lift schedule is as follows.
Women’s Clean & Jerk
There will be a 30-minute break between the women and men’s events. There will be three divisions as recognized by the IWF.
Youth: up to and including seventeen (17) years of age. Junior: up to and including twenty (20) years of age Senior: twenty one (21) years of age and older
Entrance fee for the event will be $35 for Non-GWF members, and $10 for GWF Members in good standing. The Guam Weightlifting Federation will be registering athletes at this event.
Lifters scores will be submitted to the Oceania Weightlifting Federation for ranking.
