GYP Announces Nominees for 2013 Guam Young Professional of the Year Award

Hagatna, Guam – The Guam Young Professionals, a committee of the Guam Chamber of Commerce, announced today the nominees for the Reina A. Leddy Guam Young Professional of the Year award.  

The nominees for the 2013 Reina A. Leddy Guam Young Professional (GYP) of the Year are (in alphabetical order):

–        Gabrielle Bamba, Director of Client Relations/General Manager, ASC Trust Corporation
–        Rafaelito DeAusen, Creative Lead/Owner, Rendezvous Designs (with RendezVooth and Canvas Escape)
–        Pika Fejeran & Lenny Fejeran, Owner & Owner/General Manager (respectively), Pika’s Café
–        Delores Perez-Damian, Director of Marketing, Tumon Sands Plaza
–        Nathan Taimanglo, Marketing and Investment Advisory Manager, ASC Trust Corporation

“This is the Guam Young Professionals’ fourth year celebrating the accomplishments of young professionals making an impact in the workplace, in the business community, and our island at-large.  The nominees are diverse. They come from different industries – finance, retail, and small business – but what they have in common is their superior standard of professionalism and an ultimate desire for a better Guam,” says Melanie Mendiola, Chairwoman of the Guam Young Professionals.  “The Guam Young Professionals not only celebrates the achievements of the nominees, but also the productivity of our organization this year through its three subcommittees: Be Inspired, Be Influential, and Be Connected.” Mendiola added.  

The Reina A. Leddy Guam Young Professional of the Year will be recognized with a special award at the Guam Young Professionals 2014 EVENT OF THE YEAR on Friday, January 17th, at the Outrigger Guam Resort’s Fort San Jose Ballroom in Tumon.  This year, the theme is “Who Will Rise?” inspired by the critically acclaimed series, Game of Thrones. The theme celebrates our nominees who have risen to the challenges they have faced in their professional endeavors, and who have become members of the community who exemplify what it means to be a Guam Young Professional.  

Highlights of the event include recognition of retiring members of the Guam Young Professionals who have reached the over 40 benchmark.  

Tickets are $40 for GYP members and $50 for all others. Admission includes a cocktail reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres and entertainment! The program opens at 6:00 p.m. Individuals interested in attending the event are encouraged to contact the Guam Chamber of Commerce at (671) 472-6311/8001.
