The Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation, Richard Ybanez has announced that the Hagatna pool will reopen tomorrow, although the number of hours the pool will be open has been reduced.

The pool was closed at the start of the month after the water in it turned cloudy because of an under-performing sand filtration system.

Temporary repairs to the filtration system have been completed, said Ybanez in a release. However, the filtration rate has been reduced and as a result pool hours have been cut back.

The reduced pool hours are now 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

The pool is closed on Monday. The sand filtration system still needs to be replaced. The cost of a new filtration system has been estimated at over $100,000.
