Hawaii’s Chef Noguchi Mentors GCC Culinary Students


Guam – Hawaii Chef, educator and activist Mark Noguchi demonstrated fillet techniques THURSDAY during a workshop for Culinary Arts students at Guam Community College.


Noguchi is on island as part of the Guam Humanities Council’s “Eat Your Heritage II Food Democracy tour.

GHC sponsored a visit to Guam by Noguchi, Native Hawaiian chef intern Kelley Pittman, and community organizer Amanda Corby as part of the Eat Your Heritage tour, which includes lectures, a film discussion, and the gala Chamorro Hawaiian Fusion on Saturday, April 6, at the Hyatt Regency Guam.

Noguchi is also scheduled to conduct culinary workshops with ProStart students from Simon Sanchez and Southern high schools as part of the GHC tour.
