Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 Changes Command May 19

Guam – Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25 will hold a change of command ceremony May 19 on Andersen Air Force Base at 10 am.

During this time-honored Navy tradition, Cmdr. Benjamin Reynolds will be relieved by Cmdr. John Compton. The guest speaker will be Capt. Michael Horan, commander of Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Pacific.

Reynolds served as commanding officer of HSC 25 since January 2010. He heads to Chief of Naval Operations staff (OPNAV) in Washington, D.C.

Compton is currently serving as executive officer of HSC 25.

HSC-25 is the Navy’s only forward-deployed MH-60S expeditionary squadron. As part of Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Pacific, it provides an armed helicopter capability for 7th and 5th Fleets, as well as detachments to various commands covering a diverse mission set. It is also the Navy’s only squadron that maintains a 24-hour search and rescue and medical evacuation alert posture directly supporting U.S. Coast Guard, Sector Guam and Joint Region Marianas.
