A man convicted of killing his cousin for pouring beer on him will spend 15 years behind bars.
Katner Herry will do the time at the Department of Corrections for killing Luciana Polly following his sentencing hearing yesterday before Judge Alberto E. Tolentino.
In January 2020, Polly was found beaten and strangled to death along a Toto road by children playing in the area. Herry told investigators he beat Polly after she woke him up by pouring beer over him. In September 2021, Herry pleaded guilty to manslaughter as a first degree felony.
Prosecuting attorney Jeremiah Luther said he was disappointed that the court didn’t agree with the people’s interpretation of the sentencing range, he supported applying the maximum sentence the court believed could be applied in this case.
