Residents urged to exercise caution while drive

Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense is in constant communication with the National Weather Service (NWS), the Department of Public Works (DPW), Guam Water Authority (GWA) and the Mayor’s Office of several affected villages as the island continues to experience heavy rainfall and isolated flooding.

DPW and GWA are currently responding to reports of flooding in the southern areas.

Residents can anticipate more rain and thunderstorms until 6:00 p.m. tonight. Heavy thunderstorms will bring an additional two (2) to four (4) inches of rain to most of Central Guam.

Residents can expect ground saturation, ponding of water and localized flooding with more rainfall. In addition, residents should exercise extreme caution while driving, as roads are slippery and may create unsafe driving conditions.
