Hospital Development Foundation Donates Incontinence Briefs to GMH

Guam – The Guam Healthcare and Hospital Development Foundation will be making a donation to Guam Memorial Hospital today [Wednesday] of hundreds of Adult incontinence briefs which the hospital is currently short of stock on. A total of $3,000 will be paid this morning for the briefs from donations given to the Foundation earmarked to help GMH with shortage of supplies of medications. The delivery of this donation is scheduled this morning between 10:30am to noon.

We are using our best efforts to get additional vials of labor pain medication and received a response from one off-island partner that they will soon be sending 30 vials of morphine to the GMH pharmacy. A Los Angeles based hospital we have been in communications with had agreed to donate an additional 50 vials of labor pain medication Duramorph and we had hoped this shipment would be sent directly to the GMH pharmacy today. California State law however prevents the transport of controlled substances across state borders and the hospital is now trying to work with the manufacture of Duramoph to determine if it can be sent directly to the GMH Head Pharmacist.

If you would like to be a part of a community based organization to help our only civilian hospital with supplies that it needs, please email since we are planning a meeting of local non-profit organizations tomorrow in an effort to collectively do what we can with the resources available to us to help GMH.
