655

Cultural and humanities-based nonprofit organizations in Guam experiencing hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic may apply for financial relief through Humanities Guåhan’s CARES Act Emergency Relief Grant Program.

This program is made possible by funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the federal 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

Organizations may apply for up to $10,000 in relief funds, which may be used for general operating expenses, and pre-existing or pre-planned programming.  Matching funds are not required.

Small organizations with limited resources or limited access to support, as well as organizations that serve underserved communities, are encouraged to apply.

Grant applications will be accepted online at http://humanitiesguahan.submittable.com/ starting May 15, 2020 at 8 a.m. ChST.  Applications will be accepted until October 1, 2020 or until grant funds are no longer available.

“Humanities Guåhan is fortunate to provide grant funding to our island’s nonprofit cultural and humanities-based organizations at this challenging time through funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the federal CARES Act,” said Humanities Guåhan Executive Director Dr. Kimberlee Kihleng. “We look forward to working with these organizations over the next weeks and months to ensure their essential community work continues.”

Guam-based organizations recognized as 501(c)(3) nonprofits by the Government of Guam or the federal government are eligible to apply.  Applicants are also required to have a DUNS number in accordance with federal funding conditions.
