Indoor, in-person graduation ceremonies prohibited

The Department of Public Health and Social Services has released Guidance Memo 2021-12 prohibiting indoor, in-person graduation ceremonies.

According to the memo, all graduation ceremonies must be held outdoors and attendees must be limited to school faculty and staff, graduates, and no more than four guests per graduate provided that the outdoor area can accommodate the required physical distancing.

The requirements are for high school and institutions of higher education graduation ceremonies other than the “Grad and Go” concept.
