Guam – Guam’s own Inetnon Gefpa’go Chamorro Cultural Dance Program is currently blasting its way through a 5-week tour in Europe.
After successfully completing the first leg of the tour in Slovenia, Vince Reyes, National Folkdance Director of Guam says “we are off to an amazing start”.
Festival Lent, located in the beautiful city of Maribor, Slovenia, is considered to be one of the most prestigious festivals in East Europe.
Guam was part of a select group of National Folkdance Companies to be invited to participate. Joyce Torres, a recent graduate from the University of Guam and one of the main characters of the UOG’s recent theatrical production of Pagat says. “We started by sharing our culture on the UOG stage and now we’re sharing our culture all over Europe. What an amazing experience. “
The 22-member delegation is now in Croatia and will be making its way throughout Italy and France in the next few weeks.
