Information sought on Guam Community College burglary

On Tuesday, May 12, officers assigned to the Central Precinct Command responded to a burglary complaint that occurred at the Guam Community College’s bookstore in Mangilao.

According to Guam police Department spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao, preliminary police reports suggest that school officials had secured the campus bookstore on Monday, May 4.

On Tuesday, May 12 at around 8 am, school officials returned to the campus bookstore in anticipation of opening the bookstore for students, when they immediately discovered the store’s cashier area was in disarray.

Further assessments were made and school officials discovered the store’s shelving and cabinets were maliciously damaged by unknown individuals, to include the entire store covered in solution from the building’s fire extinguishers.

The Guam Police Department is asking the help of the community relative to this case.

Information can also be submitted anonymously through the Guam Crime Stoppers at guam.crimestoppersweb.com. All tip information will remain completely confidential and a cash reward of up to $1,000 could be paid if the information leads to an arrest and a grand jury indictment.
