Inmate discovered with contraband; throw-in intercepted

Guam – The last couple of days have been busy at the Department of Corrections as two discoveries of prison contraband were made.

The first interdiction occurred on Wednesday, as Depcor Officers were preparing to relocate inmate, Darrall Acfalle from the temporary Maximum Security Unit at Post 7 to the newly renovated SHU in POST 6.

According to DOC Director Tony Lamorena, while conducting a pat down of Acfalle, officers discovered a glass pipe in his possession.

He was booked on charges of promoting major prison contraband and re-confined.

The second incident occurred yesterday, Lamorena says that a package containing tobacco and a lighter was discovered by officers conducting a perimeter check.

The package was located inside the fence line near the domes, an area many throw-ins are attempted because of the proximity to the road.

The director states that the discoveries were turned over to GPD for further investigation.
