This Thursday, March 12, Inspire Guam is holding its third symposium entitled “Series 3: Passion & Purpose in Paradise” at the Dusit Thani hotel in Tumon.

There has never been a better time to be a creative and content creator than today. With the revolution in digital technology, creatives can create content easier than ever before and send their content to their intended audiences through a plethora of platforms.

The same is true with businesses. Brands can now connect directly with their customers through highly specialized content tailored specifically for their products or services. Whether it is through social media, the web or legacy media like radio, television and print, there has never been a more exciting time to get messages created and sent across audiences worldwide.

Here on Guam, a group has been working to bring creatives, content creators and businesses together to explore all the possibilities that the digital revolution has to offer.

Founded by Victor Calvo of Invictus MKTG, Inspire Guam seeks to connect creative minds with businesses in an effort to cultivate relationships, discover communities and engage with new products and services.

According to Calvo, Inspire Guam was created to connect content creators and media influencers with the movers and shakers of the Guam business world.

Started in 2018, Inspire Guam’s Conference Series provides learning and networking opportunities for all business segments at all levels.

“Inspire Guam is a conference series for anyone looking for a new and refreshing perspective in Guam. If you are an advocate for a more collaborative culture, we are building a community of passionate individuals who bring ideas into reality,” Calvo said. “Our commitment is to equip professionals with the tools they need to succeed in this age of digitalization, to spur progressive ideas from them, and to ignite a culture of entrepreneurship for the betterment of Guam.”

Inspire Guam had already held two symposiums since 2018 which featured prominent international and local content marketers like Neal Schaffer, featured on Forbes as one of the Top 50 Social Media Power Influencers, who delivered a keynote speech on “Tactics to Amplify Your Content Marketing with Social Media.”

This Thursday, March 12, Inspire Guam is holding its third symposium entitled “Series 3: Passion & Purpose in Paradise” at the Dusit Thani hotel in Tumon.

Calvo says this is a unique opportunity to network and learn from people who have turned their passions into their purpose — from entrepreneurs launching their worldwide visions to community leaders making waves that matter.

The symposium hopes to inspire business leaders and connect with creative minds to share insights and spark new ideas.

This year, Calvo said the event will be more engaging and hands-on.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Building Community Around Your Passion;
  • Giving Yourself a Runway Before You Launch;
  • The Power of Networking, Research, & Branding;
  • How to Build A Better Personal Brand;
  • How to Tell Your Brand Story;
  • Managing a Brand from Paradise;
  • The Digital Advertising and Media Landscape, How To Measure Your ROI;
  • Leveraging the Power of Video to Preserve Culture;
  • Discovering your Purpose;
  • Arts & Entertainment Panel; and
  • Sustainability Panel

Entrepreneurs

In 2018, Calvo said they noticed an increase in successful entrepreneurs on Guam.

“So we wanted them to share their story in hopes of inspiring a new generation of entrepreneurs to take risks and follow their passion. In 2019, before our second series, we started to see the same businesses struggling with growth and an increase of content creators in Guam, so we focused on growth fueled by content,” Calvo said.

For this coming third symposium, Calvo said they are discovering new communities and entrepreneurs who have found purpose through their passion. He said these passionate entrepreneurs are also finding creative ways to give back to the community.

As such, this third symposium will have more impact on the community as all participants who purchase a ticket to the conference will be empowered to donate a portion of the proceeds to participating local non-profits like Mañe’lu, Nihi, Edward M. Calvo Cancer Foundation, Guam Animals In Need and more.

“This year, we hope to remind the people of Guam that we live in paradise and it’s important to pursue your passions and to discover your purpose on this journey of life,” Calvo said.

He added: “Whether you are an aspiring entrepreneur or a business professional looking for new opportunities, Inspire Guam offers an environment to connect, create, share, and grow.”
