Guam – Local and military responders enjoyed a free meal at the Jamaican Grill during lunch for the restaurant’s 13th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Commemoration Luncheon.
Jamaican Grills around the island held this lunch event to remember the sacrifices that were made by the frontline of New York City’s Police and Fire Department and to give thank to local and military first responders for their service to the community.
Jamaican Grill General Manager Joleen Obak said they offered a free chicken and ribs combo, mango iced tea, and a special jerked pig carving station. She said, “It’s a good support because we’re giving back to the community. We have our pig that we’re offering not only to our local and military police officers, firefighters but anyone who walks in and dines in the restaurant.”
GPD Cape Officer Joseph Perez said, “Mostly it’s to give thanks to first responders for what they’ve done not only for 9/11 but all the emergencies we respond to in a team.”
