The Consulate-General of Japan in Hagatna announced Wednesday that the 2021 Autumn Decoration of Japan on Foreign Nationals was conferred to Frank S.N. Shimizu, the chairman of the Guam Nikkei Association and the President and CEO of Ambros Inc.
The recognition was given in recognition of Shimizu’s contribution to enhancing the welfare for the Japanese-American community in the United States and the friendly relationship between Japan and the United States.
The Decoration and Certificate will be presented to Shimizu by Consul-General of Japan, Mr. Kobayashi Toshiaki, at a conferment ceremony to be announced at a later date.
Shimizu is the second CHamoru after Monsignor Oscar L. Calvo 35 years ago to be conferred the Decoration of Japan on Foreign Nationals.
The Imperial Decorations are conferred to individuals of merit in recognition of their services in various areas such as politics and diplomacy, industry and economy, academics and culture as well as, national interest and public welfare of Japan.
