Guam – Nearly two dozen culinary students from Tokyo Business College in Japan cooked Chamorro food with some up and coming local culinary talent today at Guam Community College. The 21 students are on a tour of Guam with Nippon Travel Agency, to learn about and experience the island’s culture.
The students spent the morning in GCC’s kitchen with the Culinary Arts class, learning how to cook local dishes such as red rice, eskabeche (fried fish with vegetables in vinegar sauce), chicken kelaguen, and coconut candy. After preparing the food, the students from Tokyo Business College and GCC enjoyed lunch together.
