Japanese Woman Assaulted, Purse Snatched in Tumon


Guam – A Japanese woman reports she was assaulted and her purse snatched in Tumon early this morning.

It happened around 2:30am along the sidewalk outside the Holiday Resort.

GPD Spokesman A.J. Balajadia says the woman was walking in the direction of the Hilton when she says a man grabbed her purse and used it to hit her on the left cheek.

The suspect then fled on foot toward the JFK Hill where he was apparently seen getting into a bronze colored 2010 RAV4.

The suspect is described as male, possibly local, standing 5-feet 9-inches tall, heavy-set and wearing a blue shirt and white shorts.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call Guam police or Guam Crimestoppers at 477-HELP.

TUMON – 2:33am, Wednesday, September 10, 2014, officers responded to a robbery (purse snatching) Westbound Sidewalk by Holiday Resort, Tumon.

The female, Japanese victim reported the suspect struck her left cheek area with her (victim) purse, then fled on foot running west toward JFK Road.

Suspect described as:
Male / Possibly Local / HT: 5’8″-5’9″ / WT: Heavyset Attire: Blue Shirt / White Shorts

SUSPECT VEHICLE: 2010 / Toyota / RAV4 / Bronze in Color
