Guam – Jeneva Bosko was Crowned Miss Guam World 2012 Friday, May 18 at the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort.
Bosko will represent Guam at the Miss World 2012 pageant in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China on August 18.

* Four designs for the native costume for the queen to wear at the Miss World 2012 pageant were graciously accepted, and the award for Best Native Costume Design went to the creative John Cortez.
A team of photographers voted on the most photogenic of the nine contestants, and the majority vote went to contestant #1 Jeneva Borja Bosko, who was given the title of Miss Photogenic.
The contestants voted for Miss Congeniality, choosing the Tiara Joemae Guerrero Lizama, contestant #4.
The Docomo Pacific’s People’s Choice winner was contestant #8, Ashlory Alvarez Bondoc of Sinajana. The public voted her as People’s Choice via text message for Docomo Pacific subscribers, online at www.kuam.com and on the Miss World Guam Facebook page.
Narrowing down the competition, the top six semi-finalists were announced. They were #1 Jeneva Borja Bosko, #2 Miguela Vargas, #3 Feliciana Tiara Tainatongo, #4 Tiara Joemae Guerrero Lizama, #8 Ashlory Alvarez Bondoc and #9 Christiana Williams. Each was asked a different question that they picked out of a bowl.
During their pageant journey, contestants raised money for their chosen charity. Jeneva Borja Bosko took the title of Beauty with a Purpose, as the contestant recognized for raising the most, with a grand total of $6,545.00, for her non-profit organization, Erica’s House. Cumulatively, the nine contestants raised close to $24,000 for their respective charities.
There were several ways in how the nine contestants fundraised. They were creative in their efforts, one of which included soliciting to individuals and/or businesses to make donations to their charity. This year, the donor with the highest monetary contribution was recognized with the Humanitarian Award. This went to Sushi Rock, who generously donated $2000 to contestant #5, Korina De Guzman Sunga’s charity, American Cancer Society.
The results from the semi-final round were tabulated and the top four finalists were announced. The final four included #1 Jeneva Borja Bosko, #3 Feliciana Tiara Tainatongo, #4 Tiara Joemae Guerrero Lizama and #9 Christiana Williams.
The swimsuit segment featured colorful swimwear courtesy of DNA Evolution, with contestant #4 Santa Rita native, Tiara Joemae Guerrero Lizama, taking the title of Best in Swimsuit.
Best in Evening Gown was awarded to contestant #1, Chalan Pago’s Jeneva Borja Bosko, who wore an elegant emerald green gown with a bodice encrusted in brilliant stones.
As she took her final walk, Siera Robertson expressed her deepest gratitude to all who supported her during her reign, and recapped her amazing journey as 2011’s Miss Guam World, wishing good luck to her successor.
And as the crowd anxiously awaited for the results after the final question, the runners-up and queen were revealed. Representing Dededo, 19-year-old and contestant #9 Christiana Williams placed as 3rd Runner-Up, hailing from Piti was contestant #3, 19-year-old Feliciana Tiara Tainatongo who was crowned 2nd Runner-Up and the 1st Runner-Up title went to 22-year-old and Santa Rita resident Tiara Joemae Guerrero Lizama. Finally, the much-anticipated moment arrived with the announcement of the coveted title, putting a glorious end to the evening; 2012 Miss Guam World Siera Robertson passed the gold crown and cape to 19-year-old, contestant #1 Jeneva Bosko from Chalan Pago and won the title of Miss World 2012 Guam.
Seven respected individuals from the community were selected to judge this year’s pageant. They were Guampedia Marketing Director and 1988 Miss Guam World Rita Pangelinan Nauta, Hilton Guam Resort & Spa’s Director of Sales Shiela Baker Shedd, Senior Financial Analyst for Calvo Enterprises, Inc. Fabian Calvo Garces, Guam Visitors Bureau Deputy General Manager Jon Nathan Pangilinan Denight, Guam Hotel & Restaurant Association President and Guam’s Businesswoman of the Year Mary P. Torre, Dizzy, Inc. General Manager Jennifer Dizon and Southern High School Transition Coordinator for Special Education and 1992 Miss Guam World Michelle Cruz Perez.
