The 2020 JFKHS MegaReunion has been canceled.
The milestone gathering of Tumon-JFK alumni was set for March 27-29, 2020, to celebrate “60 legacy years of the great institution located by the cliff’s edge – Kanton Ladera.”
A special call went out to the 1960s to 2019 alumni and the”Tumon” pioneers, many residing in the US mainland, to come back for these special homecoming events.
Unfortunately, the reunion has now been canceled in the wake of the discovery of COVID-19 cases on Guam and Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero’s executive order prohibiting gatherings of more than 50 people.
According to the 2020 JFKHS MegaReunion Committee, they have already paid vendors, the hotel, and bought supplies.
“The statue is here and all costs have been paid. In order to keep costs down and affordable to all alumni, the funds have been allocated and spent,” the committee stated.
The committee is now meeting to determine the balance of available money for refunds.
