JIC #227: 1 more positive after 184 tests on Wednesday

The Department of Public Health is reporting that 1 more positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed following 184 tests conducted at various labs across the island on Wednesday.

The positive case was reported by the Guam Memorial Hospital lab. The infected person told health authorities that they had no recent travel or contact with another confirmed case.

30 tests were conducted by Public Health; 43 samples were tested at Naval Hospital; 44 tests were done by Diagnostic Laboratory Services;  GMH tested 40 samples; and Guam Regional Medical City hospital conducted 27.

To date, 314 cases of COVID-19 have been reported on Guam since the outbreak began in mid-March. 214 people have been released from isolation and presumed recovered and 5 people have died.  There are currently 95 active cases on island.

Of the 314 confirmed cases, 267 are classified as civilians and 47 are military service members .

The following breakdown provides cumulative COVID-19 test conducted on Wednesday July 16:

Four people remain hospitalized. 3 at GMH in stable condition and 1 at Naval Hospital whose condition has not been released.
