Representatives from The Joint Commission visited GRMC last week. Results of the inspection could be available within the next two weeks.
Guam – The Joint Commission was on island last week conducting an inspection at the new Guam Regional Medical City.
GRMC CEO Margaret Bengzon confirms for PNC that Joint Commission representatives did a site visit as the new hospital hopes to achieve Joint Commission accreditation.
With this accreditation, the hospital will be recognized as having met certain federal standards in hospital care and management. It also means that they are compliant with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and eligible to receive reimbursements for Medicare claims.
Bengzon says that the results of the Joint Commission inspection should be available within the next couple weeks and she says they are hopeful for a favorable outcome.
