Joint Oversight Hearing Called by Pangelinan & Cruz for TUESDAY to Question AGO & GPD About Crime

Guam –  Senator Ben Pangelinan and Vice Speaker BJ Cruz have called a joint oversight hearing for next Tuesday, May 7th, with the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and the Guam Police Department (GPD).

It begins at 5:30pm in the Guam Legislature Public Hearing Room.

A release from Senator Pangelinan states the hearing is being called “in light of information made public by more victims of crimes, most particularly two (2) incidents of assault and robbery of two (2) women in the last six months and the treatment these victims received by our law enforcements agencies.”

Senator Pangelinan and Vice Speaker Cruz have asked the OAG and GPD to come to the oversight hearing to answer questions by this Legislature, as well as to the community as to the action(s) of their respective departments and to what extent changes will have to be made to ensure a sense of security that criminals will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and to keep them off our streets.
