Judge Grants Time for Parties to File Comments and Objections to DMHSA “Plan of Action”

Guam -Visiting District Court Judge Consuelo Marshall has granted a motion from Attorney Daniel Somerfleck and the Government of Guam who have sought time to file objections and/or comments to the “Plan of Action” drawn up by the Federal Management Team she appointed.

Over the weekend, Attorney Daniel Somerfleck, sought input from members of the public and DMHSA clients about the Plan of Action and he and GovGuam have asked for the additional time to compile comments and objections to the Plan.

Somerfleck is the lawyer who filed the initial lawsuit that led to the appointment of a Federal Management Team.

Read the Judge’s Order

Judge Marshall has given Somerfleck and GovGuam until Monday September 27 to file the comments and objections with the Court. Responses to those objections and comments are due Monday October 4th.

The Judge has already approved the Plan of Action which calls for spending an estimated $25 million dollars on hiring more than 118 new staff members and building a $10 million dollar treatment center.

GovGuam will be required to foot the bill, but the Judge has not yet issued the payment schedule.
