Elementary and middle school students held a mock trial.

Guam – Woody from Toy Story and Luke Skywalker were on trial this weekend and, according to Judiciary Administrator Josh Tenorio, both were found guilty.

Don’t worry, it was all part of a mock trial put on by elementary and middle school students for the Judiciary’s Law Fair held at the Micronesia Mall this past Saturday. The Judiciary, the District Court of Guam and the Guam Bar Association are celebrating law week which kicked off last week and will end on May 9. Tenorio tells us about the successful Law Fair held this past weekend.

“This law fair is a little different from previous years. We’re in partnership with Benavente Middle School. We have lots of the criminal justice community that are providing public information to the people. We have a bunch of schools that are doing mock trials,” explains Tenorio. “Part of it is outreach, getting the community and especially the getting the children to understand the law system and try and also show our appreciation to the people of Guam for their role in being supportive of justice.”

An open house will be held at the Judiciary of Guam beginning tomorrow until Thursday, May 7.
