Guam – Black Construction came out on top this past Saturday with their Senior Vice President and General Manager taking home the Guam Business Magazine Executive of the Year award.
Leonard Kaae Sr., has been with Black Construction for nearly four decades and has resided on Guam since 1985. Kaae has led Black Construction and its team of 1259 employees with a “no-nonsense method of management approach earning him the distinct respect of all who have worked with him.” His career spans 25 years throughout the Pacific Rim beginning in Hawaii through Guam, Micronesia and the Philippines.
“I’d like to thank all of the past EOY winners and thank them for their confidence and just being apart of the community and what this represents. I am truly honored and humbled by receiving this award,”expressed Kaae.
Through his leadership Black Construction has secured projects such as the GIAA $97 million Third Floor Corridor upgrade and the $43 million project to close and cap off Ordot Dump.
The Executive of the year event is an annual fundraising event to support the Guam Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Other nominees for the 2018 EOY included William Beery, Christopher Felix, Sanjay Dewan, Siska Hutapea, James Oehlerking, Annette Santos Steven Solberg and Keith Stewart.
