Guam – A 19-year-old Barrigada man has been arrested on charges of vehicular homicide in relation to the death of 18-year-old Rafael Joaquin last November.
Guam Highway Patrol Officers Tuesday arrested Kalani Ali’i Iriarte-Shepp. Guam Police Department Public Information Officer A.J. Balajadia said in a news release that Iriarte-Shepp faces five counts of Reckless Driving, Vehicular Homicide and Consumption of Alcohol Underage.
According to PNC files the accident occurred at 3:18am on November 10th when a 2008 Mazda CX9 with two occupants collided with a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon carrying five occupants and driven by Joaquin.
Joaquin passed away on November 22nd at Naval Hospital from injuries sustained during the crash.
Iriarte-Shepp was booked and confined.
