The Independent Investigative Team (IIT) formed to investigate Wednesday’s officer-involved shooting in Tamuning has provided additional details as the case continues to unfold.
The IIT can confirm at this time that a knife was confiscated at the scene of the incident. Based on currently available information, the IIT can also confirm that the officer fired a single shot.
Additionally, the Office of the Attorney General is establishing a Conflict Wall around an
employee who is the spouse of the officer involved in the incident. The employee does not
work in the Prosecution Division⎼the division charged with conducting this investigation⎼
or with any members of the IIT.
But as is the practice whenever an OAG employee has a conflict of interest in a matter being handled by the office, a conflict wall is created to limit the flow of information to and from conflicted employees.
The IIT thanks the public for submitting information about the incident and continues to
ask for assistance. Witnesses or individuals with videos, photos, or any information
can provide information by email to info@oagguam.org or by calling 475-2580.
The IIT is committed to a transparent process and will continue to release information as it
is able to do so.
