Guam – Kousuke Akiyoshi, a professional rider for Team HRC/TRS Honda in Japan and the 2010 JSB 1000 (Japan Super Bike 1000 class) Champion and Test rider for MotoGP Repsol Honda Team is on Guam training and conditioning at Leo Palace Resort Guam for his upcoming races in 2011.
Akiyoshi was at Cycles Plus in Maite this night and took pictures, signed autographs, and gave riding tips all sport bike enthusiasts that were in attendance.
Coincidently, it was Akiyoshi’s birthday yesterday and the staff at Cycles Plus presented him with a birthday cake. Born in Kurume-City, Fukuoka-prefecture Japan in 1975, Akiyoshi started his bike racing career at the age of 8 when he entered a Pocket bike race in 1983.
Since turning pro in 1995 under the Suzuki brand Akiyoshi has won every All Japan Road Race Championship (JSB 1000 class) since 2006. His resume includes Risla Suzuki MotoGP test rider and Repsol Honda MotoGP test rider.
