Guam – Lawmakers gathered for session today where talk centered on bill 276 to designate a portion of land to the Cushing Zoo for the preservation of animals.
Discussion focused on the lease of the land that would be rented out to the Cushing family. Senators discussed changing the language of the lease agreement specifically the length of the lease between the Chamorro Land Trust and the Cushing family. Senator Tom Ada also offered an amendment to change the amount the Cushing Zoo would pay in rent to 1 dollar a year. Bill 276 is currently still in discussion. Session will resume Tuesday at 9 a.m.
