Guam – Lawmakers were back in session today, discussing a bill that would fund the construction of a Guam musuem.
If passed into law, Senator BJ Cruz’s bill 179 would allow the governor to borrow $25 million dollars from the USDA to build a musuem, and to restore the Plaza De Espana. According to the bill, GovGuam will pay back the loan with money from the tourist attraction fund. “Everybody’s been talking about the musuem for the last 30 years the question has been where to get the millions of dollars that are necessary to do it,” said Cruz. The Vice-Speaker says that the USDA needs to know whether or not GovGuam wants this loan by the 15th of August.
