Guam – During Tuesday’s session, the Guam Legislature tackled two bills and several appointments. 

Bills currently in discussion

  • Bill No. 13-35, as amended by the Committee on Higher Education and the Advancement of Women, Youth, and Senior Citizens. Introduced by Sen. Amanda L. Shelton. An act relative to protecting elderly adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation by providing criminal punishment for those who harm our manamko and disabled people.

  • Bill No. 59-35, as amended on the floor. Introduced by Sen. Kelly Marsh (Taitano). An act to establish the the I Estoria-Ta: Inetnon Estudion I Umali′e′ Yan Umafana′ I Taotao Hiyong Yan Taotao Tano′ Commission to share the CHamoru perspective during the 500th year since I Manaotao Mo’na first discovered Westerners in their waters.
  • Bill No. 70-35, as amended by the Committee on Environment, Revenue and Taxation, and Procurement. Introduced by Sen. Telo T. Taitague. An act relative to creating a task force to gather information and create goals for policy concerning used oil management.
