Guam – On Friday the legislature will hold the first in a series of decolonization forums.
Speaker Judi Won Pat says they want to facilitate discussions on Guam’s decolonization or self-determination. The forum will include a presentation by Dr. Carlisle Corbin on some of the united nations processes and resolutions that have been passed. they will also hear from university of Guam president Dr. Robert Underwood. “Dr. Robert Underwood to also just speak as to the academic side and historically what had happened to Guam with the treaty of Paris the organic act and other piece meal legislation passed by congress,” said Speaker Won Pat.
Attorneys Therese Terlaje, Leevin Camacho, Julian Aguon and Vice-Speaker B.J. Cruz will speak about some of the legal framework surrounding self-determination or decolonization.
