Leon Guerrero, Torres meet in D.C.


CNMI Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres and Guam Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero met this morning prior to attending a luncheon meeting with US Vice President Mike Pence at the Vice President’s residence in Washington D.C.

All with the two governors is First Gentleman Jeffrey Cook. The two governors discussed their joint efforts to seek exemptions for the CNMI and Guam from the federal government’s recent decision to exclude the Philippines from the H2-B visa program.

Details of the discussions were not immediately available.

The Philippines is a main source of skilled labor for Guam and the CNMI, where several construction projects have been put on brakes due to the visa crisis.
